Applied for a federal job today

So as the title says, i was finally able to apply for a federal job (civil service) today. I have been an Air Force contractor for over 3 years now, the money is great, but the benefits suck at best. I make about $22.70 an hour right now but get almost no vacation time. I will start out at about $20 an hour and within 6 months i will be up to $23 or so. i wont have to wait the normal year or so to be promoted due to me already having over 3 years experience in the maintaining of C-130 aircraft. I hope i get hired on, as i will stay in the same shop, just change hats so to speak. plus my vacation time will go 4 hours of sick time and 6 hours of annual vacation time per pay day.... plus instead of a measley 25 cents per hour extra for swings or graves, i will make a 7% increase for swings and 10% increase for graves.. Wish me luck fellas, i need this job security.

hope it works out for ya Rob.. I have tried a number of times getting in the civial service part and yet to have any luck but then again I don't even work for a contrator either

you dont need to work for a contractor, you just have to have the required experience..

yes I know this but also bein a da veteran I should be ahead of alot of people also... but who knows maybe one day... but really good luck and I hope you get it

I wish you good luck! And is that right? 6 hours of vacation per day worked? That can't be right. Then again, it is a government job.
