Great Dane died tonight

Major died tonight. He was 11 1/2 years old, pretty old for a dane. Finished his coffin tonight and dug a hole about 4x6 feet, but only about a foot down. That's as much as I could do after work. Will have to finish the rest tomorrow before work. While it hurts to see him go, we are glad that God took him instead of us having to make the decision to put him down.

We got him as a rescue when he was only 11 months old. We found out that his name in his previous home was Captain, so when we got him, we promoted him to Major. We'll miss him.

Man I hate to hear this. After haveing him so long in the family hurts as much as if a close friend died, because he was a close friend. I know you will miss him greatly, but "Be of Good Cheer Brother" he suffers no more. I really liked the recognition you gave him with the name.

I have Rottweilers and My male Isaac is 11 up there pretty good for a Rott. I am not looking forward to not seeing him waiting for me with anticapation when I get home.

I feel for ya bud. Im glad to hear that you weren't forced to put him down, that would just be heart renching to to do. Keep yours and your families spirits up!

Sorry for your loss man. I am a Dane owner myself. They are amazing and the most loving animals ever.
