here is a thought to ponder...

on the 7.3s there is a spot for a second alternator. is it the same mounting type as the one on top of the engine??? isnt the AC compressor and the alternator on top of the engine use the same mouning design??? if so my thougt is relocate the alternator to where the second one can go and place the AC compressor where the alternator was at on top of the engine...

I used an A/C pump on an old ranger project. Just add a filter on the intake side and on the compression side you can plumb in a tank or a quick disconnect. I used the stock AC button to turn it on. The ranger one would pump up to around 120psi.

This sounds like a good idea. I might have to go to the junk yard...

Im sure if you were wanting to add one you could use an inline switch to enguage/disenguage the clutch.

York AC compressors are a popular item to put into a Jeeps for on-board air. There are several different Yorks with different output ratings. Not sure what AC compressor is used on jeeps after the CJ, but I know alot of people convert those to an OBA compressor also.
::Kilby Enterprises:: makes alot of kits but I don't see one for a Ford. You can get alot of parts from them though.

im just wondering what the stock AC compressor on the 7.3s puts out PSI and CFM wise. if its a decent amount then it might be something to look in to.
