YZF450 Rebuild

So i have a yzf450 quad, not sure of the year i know its an early one...its my gf's and her brother had it...completely thraaashed. Im pretty sure it needs everything that can/should be replaced. i plan on just dissasembling the entire thing, having someone local powder coat everything i can, and rebuild the motor, bearings, and beef up the wiring.

Besides the powdercoating, how much do you guys think this little project will cost? Just a rough estimate, ive been outta the bike scene since i sold mine before college.

The A-arms are bent to crap, so those gotta get replaced, so i would like it a little wider, and would like to buy a swingarm if the bearing race is thrashed in this one, i doubt anything besides oil has ever been changed on it.

Are there any big bore kits or stuff like that that anyone would recommend if i have the whole thing torn down? i know i can google all this and use Yamaha forums but i figured i would ask here first

I finished up my build last year. It's super reliable but I spent some serious coin. Between Steve @ TQSATV.com and snagging some parts off YFZCentral.com it went pretty smooth.

No...it's SBSS and unless you're planning on drag racing it keeps up fine. Unless you plan on spendin a chit ton of money and rebuilding it all the time you'll never keep up with the 7hundos

You should reserve a site at windy bay for May 16-19th and come to the Northwest Raptor Rally. More people than sandfest

What kind of riding you looking to do? I've had 5 YFZs that have all been built differently, great quads. Just lmk type of riding and well go from there.
