Just thought I would link this . It came up on another forum but I figured you all would like it . My dad , Larry Petit drag raced for years back in the day . His last car was a rear engine top fuel dragster . Here are some pics of some of his cars . This is a thread my bro in law put up on a forum he goes to a bunch . My dad is 76 now and I am damn proud of him , he and his friends were innovators . One car in the article isn't his , it was the Hollish Bros. car but a friend of his bought it from them .

Yea , I love it . He quit in 78 . I was only 5 but spent allot of time at the track . I just barely remember most of it . . The red car with the body hanging off the back is just cool . That body is an aluminum Vespa body . That car only went 10s but it is just wild .

Ya, only went 10s. No big deal...

That's cool stuff. I am pretty jealous. I'm the first one in my family to be into the "automobile crowd".

I grew up in it . I started a shop back in 05 but closed it in 09 . Just couldn't make enough money . I loved it though . When I was a kid we were always hanging out in garages full of dragsters , blown hemi's , and all sorts of other stuff . Even after my dad retired we would go to the drags and hand out with the drivers my dad was friends with . Most of them are retired now

As far as only 10's , comparing that to his other cars that went 6's .
