Any small block Chevy guys here? Need help.

Wrong forum, I know. But I've done all the Google searching I can and can't find any answers. I am in the middle of rebuilding a 327 small block and I am installing my compression rings on new pistons and can't figure out which ring goes on top. They are both notched, one on top and the other on the bottom. Bottom notched one is black and the other is iron gray. They are Mahle Clevite rings and customer service is closed today. Any help is much appreciated.
