2010 Trailer Race Season

Just posting up the progress on our 2010 race season. As many of you know we are racing in a figure 8 trailer race on April 30th. We are using my old beater. So far we have the hood stack done, along with some body "modifications."

These are all from this last weekend. Me and Nick (GM Duraturd) were the ones working on it.

To do the hood stack we couldn't just flip the manifold over because the stud holes are asymmetrical. So we made our own and welded it to the head.

Here is the first start up with the hood stack. It ran like total crap. I will say there is a language warning on all the videos.



Test drive, Nick drives first, then me.


Later that night we did some more "body modification"


Here is the manifold after it fell off, which if you watch the 2nd vid you'll see it.


So i got another idea, cut the mounting flange part off from the rest, flip it over and weld it back together. We decided to use a neighbors stick welder with cast rods so this one would actually hold. We learned wire weld don't stick too good to cast.











Then we decided to remove the stock exhaust system off the car.


The piece of flex pipe where a cat should be ripped so the rest of the exhaust was still in there, which was actually the part we needed for the flange that hooks up to the manifold. We wanted to weld the stack to that. Tried using the lawn mower. Didn't work to well, broke the little hitch hole.


So we tried the truck.


Then went for another test drive.
And for some reason the video wont load.

Then i thought it would be cool to make it smoke so i dumped some power steering fluid in the carb.


Then we got bored and just slid the entire stock exhaust system in the stack.




And then drove around like that.


We still have to figure out a hitch.


By the way, we are still accepting sponsorship offers and donations. You'll get your name or company painted on our pretty car. If we can get enough money from sponsorships and donations we will buy another vehicle to put in the race as well. Hopefully a truck.

i just love how you drew the gauges on the front winder. we have a 1990 civic wagon that we could do something like that. its sittin at the barn.

The gauges are boost, pyro, trans temp, and nitrous pressure.

Well the race went decent. I finished, but didn't win. im uploading some pics pre race. Tomorrow i'll take some pics of the car in its present state after the race.

Here are the pre race pics. I do have a short video of part of the race, but half of it is the pace laps and most of the other half Adam recorded the sky. Apparently some dude won alot of money by me finishing the race, he made a bet with his friends. People were even wantin autographs after the race. I'm makin a name for myself.










There is another trailer race coming up in a few months. I will definitely be in that race too. I'm gonna start looking for a vehicle to use pretty soon. Donations and sponsorships are accepted

I think im gonna pass on the bus race. I got my chit rocked last time. Neck hurt for 2 weeks and felt like total crap the next day with a HUGE headache. The bus seats have no support from the shoulder blades up, so your head gets whipped around like a noodle.

Yeah, they suck

It was fun but not worth it. Did get a lot of sponsors though. Slightly over $600 worth total. Covered the cost of the bus, some paint and some of the fuel.
