There is no charge for any law enforcement vehicle for this event.
There will be food vendors (Celebrity Hot Dogs and Chick- Fil -A) and soft drinks available (Cheerwine and RC Cola), live music and/or a DJ, raffle items, and a 50/50. See below the auction list of signed NASCAR drivers merchandise. There will also be a people's choice voting for the best Mustang and the best classic car/hot rod.

Registration is limited to 400 vehicles, so please arrive early for this special one of a kind event.

ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT THE FAMILY OF THE LATE TROOPER SHAWN BLANTON

This event is sponsored by Classic Rock 96.5, HomeTrust Bank, CarePartners Health Services, Belks, Biltmore Square Mall and the Blue Ridge Mustang Club of Asheville.

As many of you know, Trooper Blanton was fatally shot and killed during a routine traffic stop a few weeks ago. He had just returned to duty after being with his wife who gave birth to a premature baby. The baby is still in intensive care at Mission Children's Hospital and will still need heart surgery once healthier. Although insurance and local, regional and national support are helping to defray the costs, there is still a need to help raise money for the family.

Too many of us take for granted the protection that law enforcement provides the citizens of NC and throughout the country. It seems to always take a tragedy such as Trooper Blanton's death to bring a community together, yet we never seem to take the time to say thank you to the members of law enforcement that are putting their lives on the line for us every day. Many of you reading this as well as myself, have looked in our rear view mirrors and seen the blue and reds flashing for something that we may have done that broke the law. We never take the time to realize that not only did we break a law, but that the officer who pulled us over was doing their job to protect us and others from any potential harm! We take our ticket, pay it, and then go about our business. That's why the Blue Ridge Mustang Club of Asheville has organized this event to, at the very minimum, say thank you to the members of law enforcement for doing their job and protecting us and our families.

We ask that you take the time and join us for a day of saying thanks by bringing out your vehicle and not only proudly showing it off to the community, but by proudly showing your community spirit and saying thank you to the members of law enforcement at the same time. This event is not all about who has the nicest vehicle and how many trophies it has won, it is about saying thank you to the law enforcement members who are there for us every day. The Mustang club has had the assistance of the Asheville Police Dept., the Buncombe County Sheriff's Dept. and the NC Highway Patrol assist in a number of our events the past 18 months. I'm sure many of you have had the same assistance for your clubs events in the past as well. We said thank you and that was pretty much it. Well, this is YOUR opportunity to show your thanks just by coming out and joining us for a day of thanks. Most importantly, you will be giving back to the community and to a family that needs your support.

If you don't have a vehicle to register for the show, then pass this information on to someone that you think would like to join us. Bring out your family and show your support by buying a raffle ticket or buying some food and donating some money to help us help the Blanton family and say thank you to all the members of law enforcement that are there for us every day of the year.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, August the 2nd

The Blue Ridge Mustang Club of Asheville
Joe Grace, President
