Fire/EMS jobs?

Anyone here know of any good Fire/EMS jobs in Western or central NC. Want to raise the boy ina better state with better crime statistics, morals, nicer people, etc, etc, etc(I could go on for weeks) I have a good friend that lives in Forst City, would like to be near there. Planning on moving in the next few years, just need to be able to sell the house and find a job up there. I'm a firefighter/paramedic here in florida with 10 years experience and also a step up fire lieutenant. Anyone with any connections? Any help or info would be great. I know you guys don't want all these damn floridians moving up there, but I'm ok, I swear, I love the outdoors, fishing, atv's, four wheeling, etc.

Hey Steve,

I am a Paramedic and Vol firefighter here. I am in Hickory which is about an hour north of Charlotte. Western Side of the state. I love it here. Grew up in the mountains and moved an hour off the hill for a little more money and cheaper land values. Up here there is not as much of the fire medic positions, but either firefighter or paramedic. So I do paramedic since it pays more for the most part, and do volunteer stuff with the local fire company. I also do Haz Mat, rescue and ski patrol. So I could help ya out if you need it I am sure. The pay probably wont be as high as your used to, but I am sure the land values are cheaper too. Great place to grow up. Let me know if I can help ya out. Any questions, just shoot them my way. I am a vol. firefighter got my cert but going a different route but I got some connections let me pile up a list and get back at cha. Good state to work in and raise kids right...let me know if you find something before hand.

I do work all the time for most of the Fire/EMS stations in Central NC. I would try Orange county first, think they are in need of a few new people. If you need help just PM me and I can get you in touch with most of the right people.

i believe the city of asheville is some firefighter postitions open. i had a buddy tell me tonight he was gonna apply for one of them(i doubt he actually will. he just likes to talk alot. haha), but i'm not for sure. and most of the outlieing citys/towns normally have jobs firefighter jobs open, or at least its fairly easy to get on when you have ALOT of experience.

there's a city website tho, you could look on it to make sure. i'll ask around tomorrow and see what i can gether up for you, as to firefighter/emt jobs for sure in the area.

and if you wanna be in the mountains, we're in the mountains here.
