ooking to buy a 1992 ford f250 4x4 5 spd manual. it is turbo charged and it has 60,000 on a rebuild. he has all the paper work. are these good engines and what should i look for. i like fords. i have had several but not diesel. it also has a new clutch. i have not seen alot of upgrades for these engines. can anybody point me in the right direction for info on this engine? so is this thing worth looking into more? i would like something with some power. how are they on power? can improvements be made to these.

Thats an IDI engine and you can't upgrade it like a DI Powerstroke engine. The IDI is mechanical and you can turn the fuel pump up and turbo it which it already has a turbo so you would be set there. A DI PSD is a whole different game. Electronically controlled so you can put a chip and instantly get a seat of the pants difference. IDI = Indirect Injection. DI = Direct Injection (PSD).
