1975 Ford Maverick. Good or Bad?

my buddy just built this 75 maverick, it is a nice street/track car but is still a project car. it has a 89 gt 5.0 with a cam and aluminum heads and what not with a t5 tranny. has a 8" something rear with 411 gears. i took it for a ride the other day and couldn't keep it in a straight line, the car is fast.

just curious if any 1 on here knows anything about these cars & if its worth it to buy for a track/street car. i dont know much about these old fords so any input is greatly appreciated.

those make great drag cars they are pretty light and have a good wheel base .. id be all over that if it was local for me .. I always said one of those with my 514 bbf would be awesome

Helll yeah man it weighs 2800 pounds he said it ran 11.80 but i dont think it was all motor. hey how about il buy it drive it to you and trade yah for your f100???

I seriously had looked for a Mercury Comet 2dr or Ford Maverick 2dr but most of them out this way are rotten..that was about 10 years ago, I wanted to build one with a small block turbo... if you go look at it check the rear frame rails and the front shock towers if they are solid your good

i dont blame you that is a very nice looking truck.
he just put new shocks in it and surprisingly i didnt find any rust, he didnt take his time painting it and did it out side not in a booth, so its not the best paint job, but good enough for the track.

go there with $4500 cash ..that way ya can spend a few bucks and give it a paint job

as long as there is no rot you are laughing ... great cars id rather one of those then a mustang for a drag car..

yeah well he wants to trade me for 1 of my quads whick is worth half of what he wants so it has me thinking..... i agree id rather race a maverick than a stang, theres too many stangs around.

What quad? I would certanly trade thoes are nice cars. If it was a grabber I would want it.
