IDI Performance

So I thought I would bring this up because I've seen a lot of people looking for upgrades for their 6.9/7.3 IDI and not knowing where to start or where to turn to.
Also most people who have an IDI truck don't have a lot of money to spend on modify there engine, so FREE AND CHEAP mods are key.

So those of us that know these mods should share our info here for others to have...

Exhaust, Air Box, and crank up the pump.....I maxed the pump on the 94 I had.....that thing would roll a little coal and boogey......

DIY Straight pipe. Go to a local bus place and get some 3" or 4" exhaust and make some yourself.

I ran a Hypermax cowl induction duct on my old 93 7.3 na, it is meant for their turbo kit, but fit perfectly on my no turbo soupbowl deleted truck. it routes cold outside air from the cowlvent(at the base of the windshield) into the stock air filter housing. It was cheap, I do not know exactly how much though.
