Headlights flashing/flickering

This a.m. on the way to work my headlights went to flashing almost like I was turning them on and off. I pulled over and turned the headlights off and back on, seemed to fix it. I could smell something getting hot but the headlights stayed on. You guys think it is just the switch?

had the same problem, it was the switch
