What Transmission do I have?

Guys

I am trying to help a family member here. He has a 1993 F-250 4WD 7.3 with a 5 speed manual transmission.

My Question: can anyone tell me the model number of the tranmission?

ZF-5 speed tranny. There are model numbers that go more in depth, but that is its basic name. I think they are like SR-42 and SR-47 or something along those lines, I'm pretty sure on the numbers at least. The 42 came with the IDI's, and the 47's came with the PSD's. Since yours is an IDI its a 42, but things will interchange between them.

thanks, I was thinking it was a 6spd. Will a ZF5 hook up to a superduty. A friend broke his trans and is looking to replace it, so I am just curious.
