I think some were Brazilian and some weren't. I don't know for sure..I've had several 6.6s in f700 and f800s never a problem, and their cheap, there's like a gazillion of them around. IIRC most schoolbusses came with them.

I just drove an F700 with the 6.6 and a 2000 gallon water tank and I think it is a great engine! Tons of low end torque! I have seen a 7.8 with a 290hp tag on it, I have a friend that owns it and I am probably gong to buy it from him just to have it (might make some kind of monster out of it). I have heard nothing but excellent remarks about these engines!

The 6.6 I have in my 93 f700 has 160 hp don't remember the tq. Its hooked to an Eaton 6 spd. and I love it.
