Towing big!

Just wanted to share what I saw while driving through Nevada this weekend. While I was driving down the highway I saw a beat 87 - 91 F-250 or F-350 SRW pulling onto the highway towing a John Deere 450C track loader on a goose neck equipment trailer. That loader weighs around 16,000 pounds and with the trailer he must have been towing 21-22,000 lbs. I was driving by too fast to see if it was a diesel or gas, but either way that was impressive. I can't imagine he was going very far.

Try this

It's also pulled a railroad car and a loaded trailer on top of a trailer.

Those are some cool pics. I like seeing what people actually tow with their trucks. I'ts extra impressive seeing a near 20 year old NA diesel or 460 towing that kind of a load.

Well the truck above couldn't handle it. The 2nd engine gave out with only 17K miles on it. The first one made it almost 100K.

This is true! I hauled an F700 from AZ. to NM. with my '94 IDI turbo last week about 550 miles total. It pulls great! Out-pulls my '08 6.4 on every hill. My old '89 IDI NA truck pulls big loads on the ranch (great low end torque) but is pretty slow on the freeway. The '94 has almost 294,000 miles on it now. I really like the low-end grunt the IDI's have compared to the Powerstrokes.
