im lookin at getting a cb radio. dont really no much about them. can anyone shed some light as to which one i should get and how hard it is to install

Search the threads.. theres a few of them with a ton of CB info. U gotta get an antenna that is almost as obnoxtious as your stacks though

A Cobra 29 classic is a good one, thats what I have. And it is easy to set the standing waves.

+1 on the cobra 29 looks great built in SWR meter everyone is pleased with theirs we sell them for $159

i bought the Uniden bearcat 78 elite for $119 from a truck stop, it also has a built in SWR meter and is a very good CB the Cobra 29 is virtually the same thing just diff name.
the CB was very useful on the trip to SSS, i have some pics in a thread i made about my antennae mount in the 6.0 electronics section i think...rajharley is very insightful guy about the CB stuff also..

Radio shack has a silver plated cb that is made by cobra but has radio shack name on it and cost a lot less i dont know the unit number. If u run dual antennas u have to use one as just a dummy because the duals if hooked up together will interfere with each other. or that was my luck

Man im glad some one brought this up. I have a cobra that i cant get to work, everything come on, lights up but i cant get it to squelch at all. turn it all the way up and nothing and the volume is up all the way too. it worked about 4 months ago when i took it out of the 04 i had. but now nothing, I also herd to get it to work right i needed a different antenna because the one i have is fiberglass i think? some one told me i needed a long whip type.
