'83-'86 F-350 questions

From what I have heard, is that an F-350 4x4 truck didn't come with a solid front axle until 1985. Is this true? So an '83 or '84 F-350 would have TTB? How rare is it to find an '85 or '86 F-350 4x4 regular cab with a 6.9?

86 is the first solid axle year. I have seen plenty of 85 F350's with the crappy TTB setup.

Dont really see regular cab F350's for these years, I dont even recall if I have actually seen one period.

Was at a car show saturday, and saw an '85 F-350 SRW 4x4 that had a solid front axle. Must be pretty rare.

It looked pretty factory. The truck did not appear lifted but had 33x12.50x16.5 tires.
