01 f150 supercrew (NON POWERSTROKE) 2wd 5.4 v8 Turned 100k lastnight
I had this front end noise that sounded like a bad belt in the tire but after new tires guess what? Its still there and moma is driving my new son around in it or I wouldn't care. New brakes, rotors, wheel barrings and the spindle is good. What else is there or am I just missing something or what? |

Were the old tires worn evenly? Maybe you have a bad alignment problem and one tire is turned in/out and causing the noise. Then again, you would feel it pull.
For a quick check, take a string and run it along the rear tire so it touches the sidewall before and after the rim and run it to the front tire so that is touches the sidewall. The string should touch the sidewall before and after the rim just like the rear. Indy car style. |
