Overpriced?

Well my dad is looking into getting a better work truck. He really wants an OBS powerstroke or 7.3 superduty but they are out of the budget right now sadly. He came across a 93 CCLB 4x4 5 speed with a camper shell. All stock except a lift and 37" tires. The truck has 150,000 miles on it and has several dents and the paint is oxidizing in several spots. He wants $7,600 for the truck. That seems awfully high for a 19 year old truck when the body is fairly rough. KBB says that excellent is worth less than $4k, and I know that these truck are always worth a bit more than bluebook due to popularity and given the lift and tires I figure the truck is worth around 4-4.5k. What do you guys think? Any opinions are welcome and appreciated!

Twice what I would pay for it. 4 grand on a really, really good day. I would offer him $3500 in cash, see if he will take it.

definitely high. if it were a powerstroke and clean yes he could get that, but there isn't as much demand for the IDIs

I have seen a Few IDI's sell in the lower teens. Usually they sell to guys in the NE, and they usually have less than 40K miles and are immaculate. But the truck he is describing doesnt fit into any of those categories.

Thanks for the responses guys, just wanted to get more opinions as I do not know much if anything about the IDI's. I agree on the powerstroke pricing though. Here is the link to the ad; not sure why I didn't include it to begin with.

Ford f350 XLT 7.3L Turbo Diesel __ Crew Cab__ 4x4 _____LOW MILES

As you can see the hood is oxidizing and there is a fairly large dent on one of the passenger doors.

Alright thanks guys, I appreciate all of the insight. He is going to go check it out. It is more than likely going to get a cummins transplant in the next dew years if he picks it up.

Good lookin truck. But I'd be weary since he says no lift or mods but it definently has a lift and you can tell its aftermarket exhaust

Yup I noticed that right off the bat myself. I plan to look it over with a fine tooth comb.
