1986 F-350 - looking to buy

Ford F350 Turbo Diesel/plow

That is what I'm currently looking at. I've checked it out a few times already, and it seems to be in okay shape for its age. The tranny (replaced 15k ago), brakes/lines, and electrical seem to be in order. The engine ROARS (smooth sounding of course) with the turbo and straight pipe. I'm looking forward to waking the neighbors. New tires. The front end was rebuilt and it shows, and the plow works. Frame is solid as a rock, but I plan on sealing the underbody up so it resists corrosion.

Also comes with spare parts (tire, fuel pump, alternator, some others) and a trailer, but I'm looking to hack the trailer off the deal to bring down the price.

Does this seem like a good truck? What should I beware of on the truck and the 6.9? I'm looking for a solid, reliable work truck that I can plow with in the winter and commute 30 minutes round trip to college and back for two years.

I freaking love it! I am not sure what you need to look out for with a 6.9 but that thing is cool!

I'm putting in an offer on it tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be in a new ride in a few days!

You might wanna look into trading off them girly 6 ply tires. Them tires have soft rubber for a heavy pickup with a diesel in it.

I'm gonna put snow tires on them in a few months if I get it. Think they'll hold up til then?

They will be fine it's just that you wont get the miles out of a softer tire C range tire compared to a harder E rated tire.

I've heard great things about the 6.9. Not the most powerful, but damn near indestructible. Great looking truck too!
