1989 F700 IDI 7.3

Currently I'm looking at a 26' U haul Ford F700 with an International 7.3L N/A motor in it, backed by a 5 spd spicer. I'm going to load my Jeep in the back of it and haul it around.

Can anyone give me some tips and tricks as to what I need to be looking at to make sure it's a healthy 7.3? It's got 230K miles on it and runs and drives I'm told. I know I'll not win any races with it, but if I can do 60 MPH on the flat ground with it I'd be happy, 4.33 gears in the rear end.

I am complete diesel newb, I know the basic parts and what they do, but other than that assume I know nothing. I am very handy with a wrench, just totally new to diesels.
I am not interested in turning up the pump, turboing it, nothing save making it run as it was intended and keeping it reliable.

What kinda price are ya looking at getting it for??

I dont see why it wouldnt.... it just might take a while to get to 60-70!

Those idi's are pretty bulletproof... I'd just say to keep the oil changed/ filters changed and you'll be good to go!

My guess is it will have a top speed in the 63-68mph range. That 5 speed is more than likely direct in 5th, and more than likely it has a IP that is governed at 2800 rpm's. You will probably be at the govenor somewhere in that range.
