stalling when acelerating

1989 F-250 7.3 non turbo got the dreaded water in fuel light. changed the filter and now starting the truck is tough and when I step on the "gas" the truck stalls? checked the fuel seems to be pushing to the injectors OK could the pump be weak? when it's running seems smooth but cannot accelerate or it stalls. Any Ideas?

i would guess something in the ip, injector pump. when my got sticky, it would start and idle fine. if i pressed the throttle it would stall. i was suggested to put on a new filter filled with atf. that cured my problem.....
