new Fummins owner
well guys its been a long time sense i've been on here but i am now a proud diesel owner.
I picked up a 86 F350 Crew cab with a 92 5.9 c Ummins with a ZF5 speed behind it. shes in need of a little love but she will be a fun restoration project. |

yeah right now i'm trying to fugure out some stuff for the fuel tanks.
is there a lift pump in the tank then a pump on the motor? or how does that work? |

on the stock 6.9(if it was a diesel) would have been located on the block of the engine. if it was a gasser, im not sure if there was an electric pump there. or if the cummins engine had a way of pumping it out.

You will have a sending unit from the tank, then a lift pump that draws fuel to the p-pump.

I'll post pics tomorrow. I found out my tank problem. I just need to get my front tank set up and then make it run on that and then i'll get the rear one done. Shes no show queen but i hope she will be some day. i want to find superduty seats and put them in there. I dont really know what color to use. a buddys dad wants me to use tractor paint to try it out and said he would paint it for me but i dont know what color. i was thinking ford blue and then the gray with the wide strip down the door but thats gonna be too bright of a blue for me. I would like to have black leather interior if possable but im not sure what i will do.
sorry dont feel like trading this one as of right now. whats a normal boost level on one of these? i know im over 20, thats all the higher the gauge i got goes.... |

Only joking on the trade, make me sick to ever see my truck go. Depending on fiel adjustements you can see 30+psi
