GP install

im working two IDIs this week. one turbo and one non. both live on either.....i know i hate it too. so my question is; are glow plugs as easy to change in a IDI as a Powerstroke? and what about a GPR? how do i test that? same as on my truck? anything i should know about the starting system? trucks start amazingly fast when warm. just in the morning when they are started up for the first time.

Removing glow plugs can be a beast on these rigs. There is potential that they could break and fall into the cylinder. It happens.

Also, only replace them with Motorcraft/Beru GP's. This is no joke! Anyone who knows these rigs will tell you that.

Not certain about the relay. I am sure Justin will be along shortly to put his two cents in.

go slow....... if you feel a hint of more resistence, stop. spray some kroil or similar into the glow plug hole slowly work the gp in and out until it comes out easy.
