considering a bid on a IDI, not sure what its worth
got a question for someone good on a IDI value...
we are retiring a truck at work and selling it on sealed bids... i want it for a nostalgia toy, my first diesel was an IDI... that said... 1992 F250 2wd IDI auto, under 200k miles, no a/c, am radio that does not work, pretty plain jane w/ blue interior body is pretty straight, paint will probably look like hell once the decals are stripped off of it though no pics but i can get one... i was thinking trying $600-800 and seeing where that gets me, we have sold a couple trucks this way, no diesels, but they went cheap what do you all reckon??

Rust? It REALLY depends on the part of the country you are in.....I think VA?
I would say it would be a steal at $800 with no rust!!! Could be a real nice rig if the trans isnt shot and the body is descent. Thad |

I would pay no more than $800 for it. Work truck with an crappy version of the E4OD is a bad combo. No A/C sucks too but can be fixed (but costs money).

Justin I disagree. To me a running vehicle is worth no less than $800. But thats just me. If its beat to heck and doesn't even run then no........but to each his own....
By the way, are you going to put a different trans in your rig or leave it? Thad |

I think vehicle worth has a lot to do with where you are from. Up in Oregon I could find a dozen running IDIs for less than a grand on craigslist at one time. Down here on Texas thy go for a little more bit whatever. Living done here has taught me one thing......I need A/C
