1986 6.9 idi for $1000 whats wrong

its a 86 6.9 idi 4 speed stick shift what could be the issues or problems

why do you ask?? because of the price?? it is most likely cheap because of the fact that its a non turbo IDI

I've seen some real nice N/A IDI's go for $6K+. I'm sure I could convert mine back to N/A and sell it for a good $4K easy.

Just go look at it. Tell us how it starts cold. Any smoke. When the engine is warm, take the oil fill cap off and look at blowby. Tell us what you find.

i picked up my '86 6.9 for only 550. its my first truck, let alone my first diesel and i love it. it wasnt run for a year and a few months before i bought it and all ive done is change the oil and glow plugs and put on a new starter. all it needed to pass inspection was a headlight bulb. check it out, might be a good buy.
