What Do You Guys Think Of This Exhaust Sys.?

The project to keep the Tank continues! Now that it's safe to say the steering, suspension, & brakes are completed(with a couple of bugs I gotta work out), I'm moving to my next project(s): radiator & exhaust. While the radiator is dripping now & again, it's still holding somewhat strong & the temp needle never passes the "N" in NORMAL on the gauge. So what I really want to do before the cold weather hits & I can avoid laying in snow is to get rid of this gasser exhaust @ 2 1/2" that the last dummy who owned the truck gave the OK to some hackjob garage to install. Anyway, I buy most of my parts from autopartswarehouse.com because I've found many-a sweet deal on namebrand parts & they're one of the few websites I've ordered parts from & never had to return them because they're actually right! I found this Flowmaster set up on there & the price is right! Check this out:

Flowmaster Exhaust System Force II Side, Natural, Aluminized steel

I'm not looking for anything super fancy or even too loud & I'm thinking this would be a shade better over OE. I was thinking get this done on a weekend day, slap a cheap tip on it, & I'll be golden. What do you guys think? Otherwise, I'm stuck with this:

The picture is blurry as hell, but that tape's reading 2 1/2". I wish I could get a pic of the muffler because that'd make you even more sick.

Please; give me a vote either "yes" or "no" & post a reason as to why. Thanks, guys!

Hmmmmmm......the only problem is I'm trying to keep this cheap, & as much as I love a loud diesel exhaust, I don't want this to be too loud, so a straight pipe is kinda out of the question. Keep in mind my wife's going to be driving the Tank most of the time when we start getting pummeled with snow. She doesn't mind a good growl, but if it's too loud I ain't gonna hear the end of it. As much as I think Raul's one of the best dealers, I'm thinking Stealth might be a little on the money side, muffler or not. I've already dumped over $1500 getting the steering & brakes right, so now, even with performance stuff, I've gotta stay budget-minded.

Id go with the flowmaster, the price looks pretty reasonable and if your not wanting something real loud it looks like it would be what you are looking for

Corey go with the flowmaster. They make a quality system. I put one under my buddies IDI 5 years ago and it damn near looks new yet. Just a warning though. Get a muffler. A straight piped IDI is a loud sum***** when you are on the go pedal. My buddies IDI had stacks on it when he got it. The were so damn loud you could not hear in the cab

I hear you, Matt! Thanks for checking out this thread. The price is pretty reasonable & I can't find any other namebrand stuff that holds a match to it anywhere. I just wanted something better than OE, but not going too much off the deepend. I think this is my horse!

Thanks Dave! 10-4 on IDIs being pretty deafening. As a matter of fact, when I was going to truck driving school, there was an IDI that passed by with stacks(not really big ones, either!) & it was so loud it actually made my ears pop. It sounded good, but I don't think it'd be "old lady approved". Like I was saying, I can't find anything as far as price & quality against this Flowmaster setup. I even went so far as to check out Banks..........er........yeah...........because I heard they have exhaust for IDIs. So just for shiggles, I checked him out & it turns out you can get an exhaust........if you buy the whole damn Sidewinder turbo set up!

single 3 inch with a straight through muffler(magnaflow or flowmasters hushpower) dont get a flowmaster they rob power.
also i put my stock 3.5 on my buddies 6.9 with a hooker aero chamber and it was quiet and sounded like a big block way to quiet so we put on a 7" stack
