What Do You Guys Think Of This Exhaust Sys.?
The project to keep the Tank continues! Now that it's safe to say the steering, suspension, & brakes are completed(with a couple of bugs I gotta work out
), I'm moving to my next project(s): radiator & exhaust. While the radiator is dripping now & again, it's still holding somewhat strong & the temp needle never passes the "N" in NORMAL on the gauge. So what I really want to do before the cold weather hits & I can avoid laying in snow is to get rid of this gasser exhaust @ 2 1/2" that the last dummy who owned the truck gave the OK to some hackjob garage to install. Anyway, I buy most of my parts from autopartswarehouse.com because I've found many-a sweet deal on namebrand parts & they're one of the few websites I've ordered parts from & never had to return them because they're actually right! I found this Flowmaster set up on there & the price is right! Check this out:Flowmaster Exhaust System Force II Side, Natural, Aluminized steel I'm not looking for anything super fancy or even too loud & I'm thinking this would be a shade better over OE. I was thinking get this done on a weekend day, slap a cheap tip on it, & I'll be golden. What do you guys think? Otherwise, I'm stuck with this: ![]() The picture is blurry as hell, but that tape's reading 2 1/2". I wish I could get a pic of the muffler because that'd make you even more sick. Please; give me a vote either "yes" or "no" & post a reason as to why. Thanks, guys! |

Hmmmmmm......the only problem is I'm trying to keep this cheap, & as much as I love a loud diesel exhaust, I don't want this to be too loud, so a straight pipe is kinda out of the question. Keep in mind my wife's going to be driving the Tank most of the time when we start getting pummeled with snow. She doesn't mind a good growl, but if it's too loud I ain't gonna hear the end of it. As much as I think Raul's one of the best dealers, I'm thinking Stealth might be a little on the money side, muffler or not. I've already dumped over $1500 getting the steering & brakes right, so now, even with performance stuff, I've gotta stay budget-minded.

Id go with the flowmaster, the price looks pretty reasonable and if your not wanting something real loud it looks like it would be what you are looking for

Corey go with the flowmaster. They make a quality system. I put one under my buddies IDI 5 years ago and it damn near looks new yet. Just a warning though. Get a muffler. A straight piped IDI is a loud sum***** when you are on the go pedal. My buddies IDI had stacks on it when he got it. The were so damn loud you could not hear in the cab
