John Deeres; 4700 4020 4010 A A 60 MT Belarus 405AN International 856 The 4700 is the only one I actually bought, the others were bought by my dad, granddad, and great granddad. I'm curently in the process of restoring the 4 oldest 2 bangers. Here are some of them; alabamafrog/Tractors - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting |

I'm working a pretty sh*tty schedule right now.....6 13hr nights, then 1 night off....repeat for 38 days. They are refueling the nuclear plant hence all the hours. If Operations is running an important test, the rest of the work in the reactor building is at a dead stand still. It's nice for us because I've got plenty of time to kill on the .ORG |

Hey frog, i'm an Allis Chalmers and a Farmall guy myself, but that John Deere looks great! And BTW 260'T x 1500'L Holy crap!I don't know if anyones commented on your sig, but it's a lot easier to read now, since you fixed the contrast on it.

That one picture of the MT was right after I surprised my grandfather with it, last time he saw it I was dragging it out of the barn and taking it home to “play” with it. He was amazed, he almost looked like he wanted to cry, that made it all worth it for me. Image of Grandpa with his old-new MT - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting I got a lot of work to do on those last two tractors, they have been sitting on their bellies out in the open for about 15-20 years now. The one with no wheels on it is going to get painted John Deere pink for the wife to drive in parades and shows, if I ever get it running. The only reason I have the picture sig is because I can’t fit my mods list in the signature because of the character limitation. I updated it yesterday and also tried to make it easier to read and less obnoxious. I just got back from ridding over to look at that new Galv line to see how it’s coming along, man that thing is going to be a monster to work on when they get done building it. It’s got over 250 AC drives on it, more PLC’s and computers than I care to count and the tower elevator was cut out because of cost overruns, that’s a lot of stairs when a prox switch goes out at the 225’ level. John Deere Pink!?! Now that's a good one.
I had some similar stuff with my grandpa. We were kinda like best buds. We had a couple of things that we teased each other about. One was that I liked Ford and he was a Dodge man to the core. If that dodge had to go to the shop,he'd make sure to park it so that if I drove by I wouldn't see it. If I did, it was on! No Mercy. I feel for you on the no elevator thing. It's kinda like the actuators on valves, one of the first things that they cut when the money starts tightening up. The PLC's are a good thing for us. Makes the trouble shooting somewhat easier. Problem is that due to some regs. on some of the shutdowns they make us stay with old fashioned switches. |
