Working nights...

I just got offered a position being a night supervisor, I am pondering on it now, I was just wondering, who on here works nights and any input you guys may have... I am not sure if I will be able to handle it...

Is it more money?

I used to work nights. 3 on and had 4 off. Worked out very well.

It will be more money, I would be moving from Purchase Agent to Supervisor position and nights on top of that...

It will be a full regular work week though...

Right now I work 2p - 2a which I really enjoy. When I worked 7p-7a it was rough for me, I required a lot more sleep. Will your shift be 8 hours or 12 hours?

I love working nights. I work 230pm to 230am. You dont have to deal with all the political BS that day shift normally has to deal with.

Gotta agree with Rebel on this. Plus that is the best dang saying under the Prowler. Makes me chuckle every time I see it.

One of the major benefits is not dealing with all the Crap as mentioned. I love the compressed night shift. Not sure i'd like a regular work week night shift. I do the 3 on 4 off 4 on 3 off style and its killer. but 5 nights a week...I'd never get to sleep with my wife. as it is now I have a hard time going to bed on my off nights. The neighbors think I am a tweaker because I'm up at 3 and 4 in the morning working in the garage all the time. I work really hard at being quite in the house and garage but still get my stuff done. Makes a lot of life duties hard. Love the extra dough and less crap but it is hard! I'm looking at taking a $12k/year cut in pay to do days and will most likely jump at the chance because I've just had my fill of nights and the body effects. always being tired is not easy. Wifey says I'm more grumpy when i'm working nights. One cool thing is just coming home and dropping in bed and sleeping til I wake up...No alarm clock! Sure don't miss getting shocked out of bed each morning at the asscrack of dawn.
