Thought and Opinions on a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 4X4

I am still debating on letting go of the toy and settling into one car.

I found an amazing deal on a:

2007 Chevy Silverado Z71 4x4, extended cab, short bed
5.3L V8 or 5.4 whatever it is

Anyone have any comments on this truck, the good, bad, ugly?

How is the maintenance on it? I am looking for something that won't be a maintenance ***** like the EVO is.

I know this is a FORD site, but that is exactly why I wanted to post this here. I want an unbiased opinion.

Thanks for all the help!!!

we have had sevaral 5.3L Chevy's and all ofem have been a great truck the one had 150K miles but we traded that one for a duramax and then we still have a 03 and it has 110K miles and the only problems so far we inflicted upon the poor thing by teenage(me and my brothers learnd how to drive in this one)drivers(it's dads truck)

gets 20MPG on the open road but it aveages around 16MPG all round

you wont be dissappointed. The 5.3 is a 327 and LOTSA fun to drive. My wifes burb has one and all I do is basic maintenance and shes got 110 on the odo. Milage is about 16 around town however its not the greatest tow rig. It loves the higher rpms when towing (all small blocks do) but for a daily driver its perfect.

5.3 is a good motor. I have the 6.0 in my work truck(4wd 1500HD). Around the ranch and back and forth to town it gets 8mpg.......and no power. The interior is falling apart too.

Thanks I won't be towing anything and if I did it would be a small trailer for an ATV. I am just having a hard time letting go of my toy.

I traded in my '05 Chevy 2500 on my '01 F-350, The 7.3 gets nearly twice the mileage as that thing did(19 instead of 11-12), I wont own a small block anything again, I truly enjoy idling away from stoplight while the vehicles around me are hammering their underpowered garbage to get around me (it rarely happens before i let off to avoid tickets).
