Work Zone

Thought I would start a thread on the bread and butter of our lives. Here is a video link of what I am involved in. The process is the same for Natural Gas as well. Mostly what I work with in North East BC. Northern Oil & Gas, Inc. • Drilling1

This is what I do along with mowing.

P.S. The stonework was already there. I did the mulch, gazebo, plants, and stone in the back

The business is ok but people are going out and buying a murray riding mower, calling themselves a lawn care company and undercutting people like me who a LOT of money tied up in top notch equipment.

Thanks. I've been doing this since I was 15 and I'm 19 now so I have some experience but I still have a lot to learn

Tell me about it...

I have insurance, trained employees, and expensive equipment, and yet I'm no better than a guy with a yard machines mower and a minivan.

Luckily I'm doing ok in the higher class areas of the city, but all my smaller lawns are gone. They're either hiring bubba to come in and do it for cheap, or doing it themselves cause they lost their job.

I'm hoping to get some more landscaping work as the summer comes around. Its been so wet here, its hard enough to mow. I really didn't get into landscaping until a few years ago.

We don't have many landscaping services in my neck of the woods. I needed some leveling done and lawn laid and I could not get anyone to do it. Everyone works in the oil patch here. That was two years ago. I gonna have to do it myself soon if I can't get anyone to do it this year. If I have the time that is.

Yeah I mean i'm not a huge company. I have 2 scags, 2 redmax backpack blowers, and 3 redmax weedeaters but when I mow I am very particular about the way my yards look. I guess people will just have to learn that you get what you pay for.

I'd love another trip to Canada, but my price probably wouldn't be that competitive with the drive and all.
