Well for those of you that haven't read it on Facebook here goes.
The family and I had just got to my oldest girl's basketball game. I was just getting ready to sit down and get settled in when the phone rings. It was a buddy of mine asking if i could take him to the ER to pick up his wife and her rig. No problem just let me grab the keys to the car from the wife and I should be back by half time. I get to his house without incident and off we go.
As we are gets to the intersection of the road we are on and the main N/S road through my town there is an old guy laying in the cross walk with a car next to him. We have no idea what is going on so I throw on the flashers and park the Focus to block the road my buddy is hauling butt to render aid. I get out the phone and call 911 only to get Seattle 911. Wrong county but they are nice enough to transfer me. The guys was completely unresponsive but had a strong pulse and was breathing on his own. It appeared that he had some sort of medical emergency as opposed to getting hit by a car. Luckily for us the next car that got there had a nurse in it and the fire station is only a mile or so away. I end up getting blocked in by all of the emergency vehicles so even though I was free to go we couldn't get out until they started to leave.
Ended up getting thanked by the Cops and the Paramedics so i guess folks don't help out anymore. I don't know what was wrong with the guy but I hope it turns out alright. All said and done i get my buddy dropped off without further incident and was only about 20 minutes late for the end of the game. Luckily everybody understood.
