Exhaust question?

I want to put a turbo-back exhaust in my truck.

Is it legal and all good to go within NYC and the surrounding area? I believe the the exhaust I want comes with a muffler but I'm not to sure about a cat.

It's a 7.3 PSD btw.

No technically any modifications to your exhaust system is illegal, but on that note, most cops arnt gonna bother you because of your exhaust... you know how many tickets they could right lol honestly if oyur gonna get a system you better off getting the offroad exhaust because they sound better and cheaper.. i wouldnt spend my money on buying a system that your barely gonna notice..

Well I checked out the exhaust I want and it changes the sound (different sound/louder) plus adds a few extra HP, MPG and cleaner emissions. Also the kit isn't expensive at all it's only like $250 I think not one of those $800+ dual exit kits lol but it's still made by MBRP which is a good company.

But my main concern is tickets/getting pulled over and inspection. But I don't think there is diesel emission testing in NYC just visual and it comes with a BS muffler so it should be good.

This is the kit. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001LDAF5A/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2D9KTMTKKCKNV
The set up is similar to my current stock exhaust so they probably wouldn't even realize it for a inspection, unless they hear it but it isn't gonna be dramatic and overly loud.
