Condition of trucks in NYC?
Ok, searching around three different regions for a powerstroke. Back home in NY, 2nd home SW Mo, and last, around Ft. Stewart, GA. There is a truck that keeps popping up that is located at a dealership in Island Park, NY. I'm from Ft. Drum, NY area originally and know what the road salt can do to trucks. But just wondering what condition NYC gets. I know it can't be worse than upstate. Also, I'm wondering how much a truck in the city gets used. I can only imagine a lot of stop and go traffic. The only part of the city I've ever been is Hunts Point Market when my dad delivered there. Rough neighborhood for sure!
But this truck just looks too good to be true! 04 F350 XL with gooseneck trailer for under $9K? Crazy. 2004 Used Ford F350 Dually Diesel 6sp Manual XL at S First Class Enterprises, Inc in Island Park, NY, IID 4198358 ![]() ![]() Anyone close that could tell me if this truck is even worth jumping on a plane? |

Definitely looks like it's been used for work. Not a bad price though.
Post up on Upstate Bombers since it's all NY guys on there, there is probably someone close by that can check it out. |

I basiclly live just off of I84 in New Windsor and work east of the Hudson in Poughkeepsie @ a Ford dealer and can tell you there is a difference in the material used in winter.I sell rear shackles and frame brackets daily and been here 2 yrs.I worked on the other side of the river for 5 yrs and sold a handful of shackles and brackets.I personally think its the liqiud salt making the difference and would expect to see more by way of the city.

Thats a hell of a price. Its either a repo and thats whats owed to the bank. Or theres something wrong with one of the two

Well a guy emailed me and told me it was their truck they used to haul cars. They got a newer truck...hang on, I'll put up his email.
"Well we owned this truck for about 2 years, we used it to haul back some cars to and from locations around the new england area. We did an egr valve, turbo lines, brakes, fixed a couple leaks here and there, it's a perfect running truck and not just another dealer truck, it is our personel truck. Make an offer I know they're looking to get rid of it since they have a new truck to use." It seems like a good deal...however I'm still in Iraq, don't have quite 9k in my savings (joint savings can't be touched, we're buying a house this spring), not to mention I would have to drive it to GA to pick up my truck, then back to NY. AGH!!!!!!!! |

Trailer itself looks 2000' or newer (alone worth at least 2,500-3,500 used). I think it would be worth the chance if you could put both of them to work- or sell? If were anywhere in Texas, I'd jump all over it.

Yeah, my old job, I used to pull a 96 F350 dually with a gooseneck trailer...was a lot longer than that one with a dovetail. But yeah, it would be something to have that setup. Think I'll pass on this one.
