I saw this over the weekend and I'm on the fence. I for sure wouldn't say its the best movie I've seen this year, like alot of people are saying, but it was different........ anyone else see it? It sure as hell wasn't what I was expecting

CRAZY!!! Peter Jackson took an already well travelled road and found a new path. Before seeing the movie I heard that it was a V or Alien Nation rip off. Well, it does have a similar feel, but in no way directly apes any of those (or other alien movies for that matter). It also has a little Independance Day thrown in for good measure.

Word of warning: If your kids still think Elmo is their best friend DO NOT take them. There is a lot of GORRY violence, especially near the end, and really foul language scattered throughout. I don't know who the effects artist was but the aliens were scarry and strange (just as any good alien should be) and he/she should be nomiated for an oscar.

I thought it was really good. Rumor has it there may be two sequels in the coming years, I'm excited.

Peter Jackson had me hooked from the first teaser for The Fellowship; even King Kong was tollerable for me. Yep, I like anything different that's reasonably well written and acted with an unexpected twist. This one kept me flipping loyalties between the Prauns and humans; which was worse?

How can there not be from mister "Lord of the Rings" himself? The way it ended actually screams for more.
