i'm new here to the org. read around a while here found some good info.. wanted to say thks to everyone and hi.. got my 99 cc dually for basically nothing so its a work in progress. traded a 98 dodge 1/2 ton with a melted down 318 and ony had to put up 500 bucks. truck has 230000 miles on it but motor only has 40000 got all records from ford that someone spent a lot of money on a complete motor. trans was rebuilt by ford at this time..my question is do you think i would be safe switching over to a synthetic oil at this time?

if so what brand and size?

i have no idea on the synthetic deal. i have 287k and just use Rotella-T 15w40. yes this site is great!
