Coming to Gulfport..Need help

Hello MS members.

The army is activating me and sending me TDY to MS AVCRAD located at the Gulfport-Biloxi Airport. I'll be there for a year doing maintenance test flights for them.

Does anyone know of any fully furnished houses or apts down that way for rent?

I'm not coming with my family, they're staying here, that's why I need one furnished with utilities and everything. I'd rather find a house if at all possible.

It's been so long since I've been down there I don't remember much about the area anymore. (as far as traffic, bad areas, etc.)

Thanks

Ricky

I got the call Wed night.

It's supposed to be from Jun 07 to Jul 15 2008. It may be extended.

They're activating me under Operation Jump Start. Apparently with all of the hours they're putting on the OH-58s at the border they need help and the 2 full time test pilots there are getting activated for the sandbox in Jul.

I never thought I would pull an assignment like this . When the guy from DC called I kept asking all sorts of questions trying to find a catch.

Heck I just got out of the school last month. They must really be hurting for 58 test pilots for me to get a sweet deal like this.
Oh well I guess I've got to go where they send me .

Don't worry Stump, my dad use to live down there so I know they sell Natty. I would have tried to get out of it if they didn't

Man what a way to spend my last year.....At the beach, flying.

WOW I had no idea you were coming my way. I need to tell you a few things. First and foremost you will not recognize the coast at all.. It is still completely decimated. There are very few building From LA, to AL along the cost. The casinos of course are the first thing that they started building. But it is still destroyed. People are trying to get back to normal. I will try to look for something to rent for you. As far as traffic you will be stationed near hwy 49 which is always packed. Is there a certain price range you need to be in. One other thing is that there are still people living in tents, travel trailers, their cars. It will be tough to find cheap housing unfortunately. There may be a few condos that were rebuilt and may start leasing. That would be sweet to lease a condo on the beach for a year.

I'm looking forward (I think) to going down to my dad's place in Pass Chr, just to see what's left.

I heard the bay bridge opened back up the other day.

Seeing the coast messed up will be kind of sad for me probably. I always remembered as "Little Vegas on the Beach".

The army is allowing me $63 a day. That's $1850 a month. I hope I can find something (it needs to be furnished).

Thanks for your help.
