I'm wondering if any MN members would know where I could find a shim, other than Ford, for the differential case bearings on a rear axle?
This would be for the side to side setting of the diff case.
The parts guy at Buffalo Ford said he could get one in about a week and none of the other dealers have any of the listed shims in stock (at least as far as the computer is concerned), but I don't have that long.
The size I'm looking for is 0.241. I have a late 1999 F250 S/D with a 10.5 inch rear axle, 3.71 gears, non-locking diff., 4x4, automatic.
Even if it's a slightly thicker one, I can surface grind it down.
Any help/comments/suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks
