problems with my 96 f350

ok heres the deal im stumped my old boss baught the truck and couldnt figure it out so i purchased it it has two problems problem a is the trans the spedo will not work and when it shifts into secound it pops right back into first and continues this process however we have gotten it to shift but it shifty a little on the hard side i was told it was the speed sensor so i replaced it " on the rear axle" now for problem number two the truck was equipet with a remote start however it was remwhen we first got the truck you had to jump the sylenode then wile messing with the key pad it started then realized it had one while my old boss owned it he riped it out when the hole not restarting after it had ran started when you start the truck it runs awesome but when you shut it off it will not refire it will turnover but not fire up now if you give it a quick shot of ether it fires right up or if you let it sit for awile it will fire help mee please my wife is not happy wfe me currently for wasting money on this truck but i know its stupid stuff thanks
