I have the MBR exhaust with out the muffler / cats and love it. Sound great. I opted for the Insight instead of the gauge piller to keep the grab handle for obvious reasons. Sounds like you are on the right track.
Where are you in NW Michigan? |

I haven't changed the filter yet, but probably should have. But it was a real easy install. I grew up outside of Ludington, but I now live south of Ann Arbor.

I say go with the insight cs or cts I have the cs and love well worth the money you will spend the same amount on a 3 gauge pillar pod but be able to view more on the insight. I would just go with the SCT x3 i have heard a lot of guys don't like the livewire and from what i have seen its pretty big and bulky. If your going to do the egr delete i would also replace the oil cooler wial your in there but thats just me. Its not that hard if your handy with working on cars.

the stock intake will suit you just fine spend that money some where else

Ya you should be able to do it just fine. As for exhaust i have the stock down pipe and a dynomax cat delete pipe and 4inch straight pipe to a dyomax tailpipe i didn't have the money at the time for a full kit. What are you useing your truck for? i know a lot of guys here like the mbrp exhaust if you tow alot i would get a muffler but if you don't i would just straight pipe it. I love the sound of mine and i maybe have $300 in mine with a tip but i got a hookup on some of the parts. Like the other guy had said the stock intake is plenty good.
