Michigan August 14-16 G2G

Ok the next g2g has been set up. We are going to Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

The plan is to camp and ride. I need to know how many people are 100% sure they are going to go as i will try to reserve camping spots next to eachother. people who are not 100% sure will need to find thier own camping. once i find out who is going i will palce reservations (at the state park or Jellystone, cheepest and best rules...). i need to know who is 100% interested... i plan on making reservations on Monday, July 27. So PM me if you have any questions.

This event will be drink, eat, etc on your own. people who are 100% sure and camped together (and those in the same campground) will probably have BBQs and such.

Shiawassee fair truck pulls is the 15th and genessee is the 22 of Aug if anyone is interested. Ill be at both.

Not to interrupt Will, but remember you will need ORV stickers, State Park sticker, and Dune Voucher. There are two types of vouchers Dune ready means you drive in and head out on the dunes. Or parking lot Voucher, means you come in park the truck and take your quads or what ever you have out on the dunes.

ORV Permit is 16.25 you will need one for every machine going on the dunes including cars and trucks.
State Park Sticker I think is 12 bucks you need this on the vehicle, exceptions are atv's dirt bikes, and orvs.
Dune Vouchers are free and can be obtained from the Ranger Station. Check the website for times.

Also a Flag that is no less then 10ft tall has to be afixed to the front of vehicles, to the back of atvs and dirtbikes. You can get real good flags at the Apple Tree Store in front of the park.

I would love to go but got booted out of there a few years back because my ATV exhaust was too loud. Did that requirement change or is it still in place?

According to Michigan State Law, ORV exhaust can not reach no louder then 94db.

So yes that law is still in affect.

Well that rules me out 105db last time I was there.

we have never had a problem, but we always have the "non leagal" ones in the back of a truck then unload them out there...

Last time we were there the made us start them and test em before we could even offload them. This was 5 years ago or so

They do random testing on them. They are pretty good at knowing which exhaust on which bike is legal or not.
