Not that this is a big deal or anything, but I thought some guys might be glad to know.
My dealer just left me a message on the phone saying that they can now adjust the TPMS so that lower air pressure can be run without that stupid light coming on. Can it be completly shut off, he didnt say in the message and I have not called them back.
Anyways, for those that have the light stay on because of aftermarket tires, you might want to call the dealership. Apparently they can fix it now.
What is the dealer name. I would like to call their service department to confirm this and then let my dealer know their is a Ford dealer out there that can do it, so maybe I can get my dealer to take care care of mine.
I spoke to my dealer today and they told me that it might be possible but they would check and get back to me. So I will post back once I hear something.
Ok well they called me back today. Seems that if other dealerships are doing this mine is unaware of it and not willing to do it. Was told they have no way to do this and if we know of dealerships that ARE doing it then they will get in contact with that dealership, find out how they are doing it and then address the issue.
However, I did talk to one guy that bought a truck 2 weeks ago from the same dealership I bought mine from, took it in had a lift, wheels, tires, etc installed and the shop (4wd shop) took the truck back to the dealership to drop it off so they guy could sign all the paperwork and take delivery and he said to his knowledge they DID reprogram the truck since he was only running 50 psi in the tires and no TPMS light was on.
So I have them running down some info for me and should hear back once again from them next week.
Yep, you get that allot, one person knows something but no one else is informed.
