I got the livewire 9625OR and dpf/doc pipe installed today. After almost 2 hours of trying to get the software updates and then 3 hours of fighting with the exhaust, I finally got to fire it up for the first time.
Idling it sounds a little louder then stock, and when i reved it up i got a tiny bit of black smoke, much less then i had expected.
I am currently running the extreme offroad tune and I must say that with all the bad reviews i have read online, i was pleasantly surprised with how smoothe the shifting was. I was expecting it to be harsh but it was far from that.
I was however dissapointed as I did have it on the firm setting and was expecting to feel the shifts a lot more. I personally didnt think that the shifts were much firmer then stock unless it was because i wasn't at wide open throttle.
It was raining out this evening so perhaps that was softening the shifts.
After my brief ride tonight I am happy with my purchase. I definately noticed the boost builts faster then stock and the superchips programmer that i previously had.
The exhaust sounds pretty mean when you hammer down on it...but I did notice an odd sound that I really hope is from the delete setup it seemed to happen around half to 3/4 throttle...when at WOT i never noticed the sound.
Its hard to explain it with only a little drive time, to me i thaught it was something in the tranny or the rear end but i think it is exhaust related...i did however notice that i could not reproduce the sound when the truck is in neutral and revving, so i think its boost related.
I did pick up on the hairdryer sound at idle, and i noticed that when i shut the truck off now, it sounds like a jet engine powering down. I assume it is the turbo shutting down and it takes much longer then it did when the restrictive exhaust components were in.
Can't wait to get out and play some more and post more of my findings.
