I seen a picture of a set of stock rims 20x8 with a set of 37x13.5x20 toyo mt. I like the look but it is that to wide for 8" rims? What kind of problems if any will I have.
Toyo says 8.5" is the minimum width for those tires. But I've read on this site that going past by 1/2" won't be too bad. I'm doing the same thing right now. But I'm doing the 37X12.50x20. I love the stock wheels and couldn't find any better. but wanted larger tires.
bump this up...is the general consensus that going 1/2" over is OK but one probably shouldn't put a tire that is recommended for a 9' rim on an 8' stock rim. I am really digging the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac and (old Faithful) BFG A/T's but in the 35" sizes they recommend 9" rims.
Any chance someone is running these tires on stock rims??? If so how is it working out? If not, does everyone agree this would be a bad idea?
its not recommended but nobody listens, if thats what you want to do, do it! Tires are going to wear faster, especially in the middle, also handling will be comprimised a lot, good luck:thumb:
I ran ATZs 325/65/18s on a 8.5" wide wheel and it was too narrow. The middle wore out faster than anything. I tried different pressures but never got it dialed in correctly. You should use a 9"-10" wide wheel for that tire.
