I have a 2006 6.0 with 17K miles and am thinking of installing a coolant filter system. I have researched the forum archives. Any suggestions as to which brand works well. I looked at the DieselSite.Com set up, how does the filter housing mounting bracket attach to the truck, looks like it just slides under a bolt and just hangs there. Any problems with this set up? :dunno: Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.
I installed the coolant filter system from Dieselsite on my truck. The bracket does bolt on. Clear instructions and simple install. Purchase extra filters.
Off subject since we both have 7.3's but I got one for my 02 and took it off 10 min. after I put it on because the hood wouldn't shut all the way with were the mount is on the header panel. It caused my hood to twist. Everytime I open the hood I'm thinking of a place to mount it but nothing is coming to mind and those things are big.
i got the dieselsite kit and mounted it like the picutures in the instructions had it on the radiator hold down and its worked fine.. i think everything bob sells is top notch. certainly not the cheapest. i think i saw a write up on how to make your own pretty cheap, but as for me it was super easy to just open up the box and have everything i needed to install it. i can get some pics of it tomorrow if you would like my truck is a 01 by the way
just saw this was for a 6.0 so what i wrote might be of no help if not im sorry LOL
