I'd like to convert to the Harley style headlights from '05-'07... I've heard that some will burn up the connectors, or should be converted to relays...

I did a search on ebay... who's the best to get them from? I found one set for about $180 including shipping with bulbs and sockets, need to splice into exhisting wiring. Is this a good deal?

Headlight depot is the name on the ebay ad, and they are aftermarket. Don't think I can pony up the cash for the real thing... what is the diffrences? How does the quality suffer?
THanks for the reply Raul...

i have them but i only paid $140. They fit nice and i have not had any problems with moisture yet. I have had them for a couple of months now. I thinkin about taking them off and running a bead of silicon around were they seal so moisture cant get in. Its deff worth what they want for them

So, I might be ok with the el-cheap-o lights, as long as I am smart about the install and do some extra sealin' up with some silicone? I really like the look of 'em, and now that I finnaly got my truck painted last week, it's all yellow now, the black lights would look awesome! I'm gonna paint my stock grill black too...

It's always a crap shoot with those cheapy lights, I have seen many that have moisture in them. Once it get's in there it is a tough job getting it out!! You do know you will have to use a dremel tool to cut your header panbel right? It's not a terrible job, just follow the instructions that have been posted on here numerous times. The 03 lights are direct bolt on, but no Harley's version. I disagree about using those pigtail conversion harnesses, I have seen many of those melt the housings!! I would never use them, get the harness with the relays from Gosracing or Dfuser, if not you aren't getting full power to the bulbs.

Back to your original post. You need to run a harness that has relays on it. If not you run the risk of melting housings and you won't get the full potential of the bulbs. I used the GOSperformance.com conversion harness. It was like 65 bucks and was very easy to install and excellent quality. Plus if you run that harness you can run hids.

Update: I was able to order the lights with bulbs for $211 shipped to me, and the harness from GOS for $69 shipped.

Install was reasonabley easy, ended up taking the header panel out with the old lights still attached, couldn't see any easy way to get the old lights out any other way... and it made cutting the clearance holes much easier. I also didn't want to remove my brush guard. Used a cut off disk in the grinder for most of it, and a fine tooth blade in the sawzall for a few corners I couldn't get the disk into. Cutting went well... putting the header panel back in went smoothly after the 10 minutes I spent trying to put it back in and realized it was UP SIDE DOWN! (Nothing has made me feel like that much of an idiot in a long time!) The new wireing harness was a breeze, very well made.

Started on the project at about 11:30 PM Friday night, by 2:30 AM I was done and out test driving. WOW, thoes lights are so much brighter than my old ones... Still need to re-aim them a little, but so far I'm very happy.

I traded my stock chrome grill to a friend who had the stock black grill, and sprayed some gloss black paint on it today... so the front of my truck looks so much better now... fresh yellow paint, black lights and grill, and black brush guard that I made. If I can only get rid of that chrome bumper and get the new front bumper built and painted black, then I'll be done!

I'd post pictures, but I don't have any on the web, just on my computer...

Thanks for the input and advice earlier in this thread...
