Nope the Cap just screws off. It's kinda on tight so you can buy the tool to get it off or make one or use a punch and a hammer just don't hit it to hard or it will break the fins off the lid.
Just, rumove the filter topand install a new filter. The bad thing about your truck is the fuel drain valve tends to leak after draining the fuel. If you drain it, check for a fuel leak around the valve and out of the drain tube under the alternator.
The first time I was going to change the filter I took it in for a oil change and watched all the fluid changes. I even got under the truck. The way they pull the filter cam is with a 1/2 socket with no socket attached.
It's the easy way. Just be carefull not to get to carried away and break the top. barnyard
