Hey guys,I'm new here this is my first post.Got my 95 PSD on friday.Today on the way home from store smoke started rolling out of the hood when i pulled in my driveway.Id was leaking coolant and the fan was distributing it over the motor.I'm glad it came with a warranty so just gotta line it up to get it fixed.I noticed yesterday the temp was running a little over half way on the gauge. Is this normal?Cant wait to get it fixed.I miss it already...I think the fumes infected my brain........
Thanks guys
Jason

depends on the truck on how high the gauge runs. mine runs at about a quater of the gauge

as long as the gauge isnt towards the top half of normal all the time i wouldnt worry about that. Its probably running a little warmer than normal because its low on coolant...no big deal as long as it doesnt overheat......

I agree with the above...almost garanteed to be a water pump just knowing these motors...

Ford quated me a water pump for 389.00 dollars 130.00 at autozone. Are these hard to change.I've worked on hundreds of v8 gas motors.Never torn into a diesel everyone is telling me 240.00 to install it.Almost makes a tear come to my eye to see her settin in the drive way hurt.

Changing the water pump is not too difficult, just time consuming. You will need a special wrench to get the fan clutch off.
