I would ask you what kind of driving do you do? You're comparing a MT to an AT tire. The AT won't be near as good in the mud, but will out perform the MT on the highway in all kinds of weather. The AT's are at best "ok" in mud, but do pretty well in dry off road conditions. The BFG's will most like last longer as well.
I just put four 35X12.50R-17 Toyo Open Country MT's on my '08 4X4. They are aggressive, they are loud and they wander at high speed on the highway. I usually drive between 65 - 75 mph on the highway and they have been fine at that speed. However, I had the truck up to 85/90 the other night and it started to wander a little - I didn't like the feeling at all. I run a little mud and a lot of beach sand and they work great for both. I had Procomp Extreme MT's on my '07 Ranger and they were no where near as loud as the Toyo's.
Nothing will outlast the BFG's. I've run several sets on many different trucks and have yet to wear out a set. Toyo's look awsum....... great for mud only IMO. All around and especially sand ....... GO BFG!!!!
ill guess ill go with bfg. plus i will think it will be less expensive to buy. i do know that the 265/75/16 E range is $199 at discount. i havent found the price to the toyos.
285? whats the full size that you are running?
i just rotated my tires last night and the 265/75 are in the front and the pass front tire is like less than a inch from rubbin the tip of the bumper.
so seeing that i wonder if i should get stock size for the front which is 235/85/16 and the wider ones in the back.
I have bfg's on my truck and they work great on the street, had them on the old f-150 and i won a mud drag!! with enough wheel speed they will get you anywhere u need to go. Also if you are dead set on an MT check out the new BFG KM2, it's bad.
